Op-Eds Speaking Truth to the Powers-That-Be

Amazon.com: Bring Customer Service Jobs Back to the USA

Amazon.com is one of the most profitable retailers in the world. Millions of Americans buy all kinds of goods from them every day. Target stores use Amazon.com for their online sales. Most of their customer service operations are off-shored in places like India.

It’s time to ONSHORE a few jobs, fellow Americans.

It is not enough to ask the government to kick start jobs. Consumers have to demand that companies with whom they do business bring back their workforces here in the United States. Calling centers were once a major source of employment for Americans with limited education, second jobs, jobs for college students, and jobs for persons living with partial disabilities.

A new feature on Truth-2-Power.com, we are going to find and identify areas where our readers can have a positive impact on getting America back to work again.  We call them t2P Rallies!

Tell Amazon.com that you want them to be a great corporate U.S. citizen. We applaud their passion for green. Now it’s time to have a passion for helping average Americans make more green that they can spend with retailers who do right by American workers.

  1. If you have a Facebook account, LIKE our new community protest pagethere, and tell your friends to do the same:http://www.facebook.com/pages/Hey-Amazoncom-Bring-Back-Customer-Service-Jobs-to-the-US/166208930126358
  2. Next, contact Amazon.com either on their Facebook Page, by Twitter (@Amazon), or through your Customer Service page on your Amazon.com account. Click the gold Contact Us button under General Support.

Let them know that you want them to bring their customer service facilities back to America, and put Americans back to work answering those phones!   Tell them you will be buying more from good corporate citizens that understand the value of getting America back to work!

Amazon is now a public corporation, traded on NASdaq, wherein by U.S. law executives have fiduciary responsibility to act in the best interests of shareholders. T2P asks others of like mind to him to demand that Amazon founder and CEO, Jeff Bezos, break federal law and risk corporate fines and penalties along with his personal prison time.

Bezos grew and operated Amazon a full six years on personal and borrowed capital before making the first dime of profit. It now operates in the United States, Canada, the United Kingdom, Germany, France, Italy, Spain, Austria, Japan, and China. Dozens of Amazon employees have left to become successful entrepreneurs, each hiring lots of American workers.

If one wants to increase the numbers of American jobs, the formula is simple. Eliminate corporate and business taxes (since customers pay them in the form of higher prices anyway), and cut federal regulations by at least 90%. Then, promise to stay the hell out of the way.

About Truth-2-Power

A phrase coined by the Quakers during in the mid-1950's, "Speak truth to power," was a call for the United States to stand firm against fascism and other forms of totalitarianism; it is a phrase that seems to unnerve political right, with reason. The Founding Fathers of United States risked their lives in order to speak truth to the power of King George and the mighty British Empire. It was and is considered courageous. Join us!
