Republicans need a new pledge: NO MORE TURNIPHEADS.
The primaries from Hell continue as the mediocre Mitt fends off reactionary Rick and nasty Newt. Another Conservative Political Action Conference (CPAC) closed last Sunday with more of the same brain-dead 19th century Libertarian-meets-”Christian” rhetoric that is to the party what ticks are to a dog.
Mitt Romney, Rick Santorum and Sarah Palin are the best that the Republican party can muster up?
Please.

If the dead can’t vote in Chicago, should they be allowed to influence politics from the grave in Pittsburgh and Denver and New York?
The Koch brothers may be the most visible part of the Dead Billionaires club, but they are not the only New Deal-hating Libertarian elites funding the dismantling of the government of the United States from within.

More than 14 million people are unemployed. Las Vegas capped ten GOP presidential debates. Republican candidates have served up hard Right fan faves, from banning abortion to tax and regulation cuts. For the rest of us? Die if you don’t buy, and pull yourself up by your own bootstraps and you’ll make millions. It’s sweet cherry Kool Aid for a thirsty minority. Is it in step with the general American public? If not, why are they pouring it?

Occupy Wall Street (OWS) protestors dodged Mayor Bloomberg’s left hook on the ground last Friday, cleaning Liberty Square before the city could use it as an excuse to break up the demonstration, but the leaderless revolt continues to struggle with the 1%’s powerful gatling gun: The corporate-owned media that still influences the opinion of a majority of Americans. Can they show equal brilliance in their air game, as well as their ground game?

Mr. Obama’s plea on behalf of the American people for jobs and his presidency remains stuck in a political no-man’s land. This is not because the majority of the country opposes his proposals. We remain in a WWI-worthy stalemate because the Tea Party has no problem with the concept of one nation, divisible.
The problem is not the politicians. The problem is not the system that has worked for hundreds of years. The problem is Y.O.U.
You don’t understand the big picture of what is happening. You keep waiting for someone else to do something. The only ones doing something are the motivated. The extremists. We have polarization because common-sense Americans keep calling themselves “independents,” griping to pollsters, and waiting for something to change.
You are the change.
You don’t know how? Here is a 101 of what is dividing our country in two that puts it all into perspective for you. Read it. Know it. Share it. Stop the polarization. Act to save the Union.

At a time when we are sending our young men and women to the Middle East to free Afghanis from 9th century fundamentalist ignorance, it is ironic and very wrong when the men and women of the Republican Party who aspire to the highest office in the nation proudly raise their hands and assert their disbelief in science, and, in particular, Evolution.
Surprisingly, almost a full century since the famous Scopes trial, the divide between science and fundamentalist religion in this country is wider than ever. In a 2010 Gallop poll, 40% of Americans surveyed rejected evolution.

Last weekend Sarah Palin began her “One Nation” bus tour, barnstorming around the Northeast, with news organizations scrambling like flies around media manure to keep abreast of what she will do next. Palin has some serious talents. Governing and holding an executive office are not two of them. What this woman does have is an innate gift to create a media buzz around herself. Most of the “GOP hopefuls” know that they do not have a hope in hell of winning. So why do it? The label “Republican Candidate” is a rhetorical gold mine where the chosen few can spend years making millions in hollow speeches, book deals, radio talk shows, and at the Conservative’s Cabal and choice cash cow, Fox News.

After President Obama’s performance, topping lion-tamer Gunther-Gebel-Williams at the GOP retreat last week, maybe it is time to trump keynote speaker Sarah Palin with a visit to the mad Tea Party.
Mr. Obama is the master of the unexpected. If you walk the walk down the middle of the political road, what better way to address your harshest critics than to address your harshest critics.

Just when you thought that Fox News could not try harder to divorce themselves from any shred of credibility as a news organization, comes the latest amplification of hate speech against President Obama. Apparently the President of the United States of America is not fit to speak to our kids at in a public school webcast on education because he has contagious SOCIALISM.
