Power. That’s the name of the game in Republican politics. Not principle. Not vision.  Who are the core players in that power game?  t2P has combed several lists of ‘key’ Republican players from the two opposing forces in the Radical Right, the Libertarians and the Neo Cons.  Our top ten list represents the people who, through political clout, money, or both, are seminal driving forces that corrupt Republican politics and push it to the extremist ends that it promotes today.

Republicans need a new pledge: NO MORE TURNIPHEADS.

The primaries from Hell continue as the mediocre Mitt fends off reactionary Rick and nasty Newt. Another Conservative Political Action Conference (CPAC) closed last Sunday with more of the same brain-dead 19th century Libertarian-meets-”Christian” rhetoric that is to the party what ticks are to a dog.

Mitt Romney, Rick Santorum and Sarah Palin are the best that the Republican party can muster up?

Please.

Democrats have a few whopping-bad ideas that we inject from time-to-time into the political system. One of them, the “response” to the State of the Union address, initiated under King Richard of Nixon in 1966, really has to go. [1] Read the rest of this entry »

GOP Smackdown: The Winner of South Carolina won’t be Romney, Gingrich, Santorum or Paul

There will be one loser in Saturday’s South Carolina primary: The GOP.  The winner will be Citizens United, which has unleashed the Godzillas of funding in the Battle of the Billionaires! Who will be the top in the schism of the selfish sects of the Republican Party? A handful of billionaires have spent more than 50 million in just three primary contests to gain control of the general election.  Which billionaire’s scheme will reign supreme?!

The Dead Billionaires Club

If the dead can’t vote in Chicago, should they be allowed to influence politics from the grave in Pittsburgh and Denver and New York?

The Koch brothers may be the most visible part of the Dead Billionaires club, but they are not the only New Deal-hating Libertarian elites funding the dismantling of the government of the United States from within.

Losing Oreo America: One Nation, Divisible

In 2011, American Values, Barack Obama, Bureaucracy, Campaign 2012, Centrism, Civil Protests, CNN, Corporate-controlled Media, Corporatocracy, Democrats, Elections, Fascism, Federal Government, GOP, Ideologies, Joe Wilson, John Boehner, John McCain, Karl Rove, Koch Brothers, Liberals, Media, Mitch McConnell, Neo Conservatives, New Mexico, Partisan News, Patriotism, Politics, Racism, Religious Right, Republicans, Rick Perry, Ronald Reagan, Rush Limbaugh, Sarah Palin, Special Interests, States, Tea Party, Television News, Texas, The Congress, The House, The Senate, Totalitarianism, Unions, Voter Registration, Voting, Wisconsin, Years on September 17, 2011 at 12:59 pm

Mr. Obama’s plea on behalf of the American people for jobs and his presidency remains stuck in a political no-man’s land. This is not because the majority of the country opposes his proposals. We remain in a WWI-worthy stalemate because the Tea Party has no problem with the concept of one nation, divisible.

The problem is not the politicians. The problem is not the system that has worked for hundreds of years. The problem is Y.O.U.

You don’t understand the big picture of what is happening. You keep waiting for someone else to do something. The only ones doing something are the motivated. The extremists. We have polarization because common-sense Americans keep calling themselves “independents,” griping to pollsters, and waiting for something to change.

You are the change.

You don’t know how? Here is a 101 of what is dividing our country in two that puts it all into perspective for you. Read it. Know it. Share it. Stop the polarization. Act to save the Union.

In the Shadow of the Tea Party Revolt: Where are the Jobs, Jobs Jobs?

Bush, GOP, Ideologies, John Boehner, Liberals, Politics, Racism, Religious Right, Republicans, Rick Perry, Ronald Reagan, States, Tea Party, Television News, The Congress, The House, The Senate, The White House, Treasury Department, Voter Registration, Voting, Wall Street, Washington on September 1, 2011 at 1:01 pm

We are just two months away from the anniversary of the mid-term election of 2010, the oft-celebrated “Tea Party Revolt” by the Right.  Tea Party Republicans swept into the 2010 mid-terms, riding mountains of cash from a select few special interests, funding a few dozen astroturf citizen movements like the Club for Growth and a few dozen more foundations and other political money laundering schemes. [1]

Corporations kept their tax loopholes. The uber-rich continue to siphon the Treasury with their 3% tax break. After trillions in proposed cuts in government spending, the slashing of civil rights, the destruction of the right of labor to organize and the slashing of the social safety net, we all have a question for representatives Boehner and Cantor:

Where, in all of this, are the “jobs, jobs, jobs?

Be Careful of the Beast You Starve: It May Be You

In 2011, Barack Obama, Bureaucracy, Democrats, Federal Government, Ideologies, Republicans, Ronald Reagan, Tea Party, The Congress, The House, The Senate on August 9, 2011 at 4:26 am

Our bureaucratic beast has been starved, and now it’s angry, hungry and looking for payback.

We’ve  deprived it of revenue, the Federal Income Tax cuts for the wealthiest Americans don’t add up.

The Republican’s idea behind those cuts was to reduce the size of Government.  It presupposes that, without revenue, the Government can’t spend. If the Government can’t spend, then it would have to become smaller, because there will be less that in which it can become involved, due to lack of funds.

This presupposition turns out to be quite wrong.

U.S. Economy 101 (in Plain English, with Humor!): How the GOP and the Media Are Shucking You

In 2011, Auto Bailout, Barack Obama, Ben Bernanke, Big Three Auto Makers, Bureaucracy, Campaign 2012, Corporatocracy, Democrats, Elections, Federal Government, George W. Be honest: You and most people are affected by the economy, but you only have a glimmer of an idea why it’s screwed up. There is the massive disinformation campaign put on by the billionaires who control millions spent by companies’ lobbyists, Astroturf grassroots activist groups, and propaganda outlets like Fox News to make the common thinking on the economy their thinking. Here’s a 101 on the economy, and why the fear-narrative on debt ceiling talks and cries of America going broke are a lot of hooey. Read the rest of this entry »

Mr. Obama is not the 3/5ths President – 50 Years of GOP Addiction to Racism

In 2011, Ann Coulter, Barack Obama, Birthers, Campaign 2012, Democrats, Elections, Fascism, Fox News, George H.W. Bush, George W. Not the 3/5ths President

The sheepskin of George W. Bush may have said Yale, but the mouthful of “Bushisms,” from the “decider” to “misunderestimated” made him the butt of billions of dollars of “dumb” joke merchandise. Yet, in all of that, not one Democrat in leadership or running against W. took a shot at his staggering lack of intellect.

The same cannot be said for Republicans.  The level of acrimony and bile injected into every political thought, particularly in regard to Mr. Obama, is cynical pandering to their core white audience who seem to think that he is the 3/5ths president.

While the media obsessed with Tim Pawlenty’s lack of teeth in attacking Mitt Romney last week, the barb directed at the President was completely missed:
