You will be hit with a lot of anti-Obama ads from large political Super PACs, think-tanks, and other astroturf grass rights groups that have been cooked up by the far Right over thirty-five years to control your vote. When you read the name, know who is behind it, and tell your friends and neighbors. It’s time that you look up the line to see the puppet masters pulling your strings. Read the rest of this entry »

Never Reward People Who Propose to Solve the Problems They Create: Remembering W

Barack Obama is behind in the fundraising race. No sexy primaries, a tepid economy, and this time the big dollar donors aren’t in the middle of the worst financial crises of their lives. Keep the corporate takeover of government from completing their stacking of the deck in favor of the wealthy or the Libertarian Teahadis from ripping apart the government from inside the Congress like a bunch of bone-wielding chimps (With apologies to Chimps, who have more common sense and better manners than most Teahadis.). Power. That’s the name of the game in Republican politics. Not principle. Not vision.  Who are the core players in that power game?  t2P has combed several lists of ‘key’ Republican players from the two opposing forces in the Radical Right, the Libertarians and the Neo Cons.  Our top ten list represents the people who, through political clout, money, or both, are seminal driving forces that corrupt Republican politics and push it to the extremist ends that it promotes today.

The Club for Growth, unimpressed with the GOP presidential pack are going RINO (Republican in Name Only) hunting. The same anti-union, anti-women, Tea Party backers are looking to bag big game in Congress because the name of the game isn’t the White House anymore. It is breaking down the heart of government: The Legislative Branch.

I pledge Allegiance to Grover Norquist

Who is Grover Norquist?  His name oozes up when his “tax pledge” hamstrings Republicans who aren’t dye-in-the-wool Teahadis.  Norquist is an extremist Corporatocratist with the self-stated goal of ending all government and turning over everything, including the military, to private-sector control.

He is the spear carrier of the long-smouldering Libertarian overthrow of the Republican Party. A Social Darwinist intent on destroying the U.S. Government from within, whose “friends” in back room deals include convicted felons Jack Abramoff, Abdurahman Alamoudi, and Tom Delay, political sharks Karl Rove and Ralph Reed, and presidential contenders Newt Gingrich and Rick Santorum, to name a few.  The more you know about Norquist, the more you should genuinely fear for the future of this nation if he or anyone he’s done business with takes control of the majority of governmental power.

Ugly America: How the Far Right uses Fear, Hate, and Faux-Franchised Patriotism to Sell the Message of the 1% to 23%

That we have the kind of crass, horrific incivility in our polarized politics, and our Right-intimidated media, is not surprising.  What is sad, shocking, and somber, is the conduct of thousands, perhaps millions of Americans who do the bidding of the 1% even when it contradicts their own self-interest and their personal moral compass.

Herman Cain's Democrat Love Machine

Hermie… I call you that because you take that ridiculous Rovian cue and call us Democrat, rather than Democrats or Democratic… You say that there is a “Democrat machine” out to break you?  Perish the thought!  We really want you to run in the general election.

Losing Oreo America: One Nation, Divisible

Mr. Obama’s plea on behalf of the American people for jobs and his presidency remains stuck in a political no-man’s land. This is not because the majority of the country opposes his proposals. We remain in a WWI-worthy stalemate because the Tea Party has no problem with the concept of one nation, divisible.

The problem is not the politicians. The problem is not the system that has worked for hundreds of years. The problem is Y.O.U.

You don’t understand the big picture of what is happening. You keep waiting for someone else to do something. The only ones doing something are the motivated. The extremists. We have polarization because common-sense Americans keep calling themselves “independents,” griping to pollsters, and waiting for something to change.

You are the change.

You don’t know how? Here is a 101 of what is dividing our country in two that puts it all into perspective for you. Read it. Know it. Share it. Stop the polarization. Act to save the Union.

The Power of the Big Lie for the GOP

In 2011, Barack Obama, Bill Clinton, Campaign 2012, Democrats, Elections, George H.W. Bush, George W. Bush, GOP, Jimmy Carter, Karl Rove, Politics, Republicans, Ronald Reagan, The Congress, The House, The Senate, Years on June 15, 2011 at 12:57 am

Last night, the first Republican Presidential primary debate for the 2012 election was awash with all kinds of interesting factoids that were dead-bang wrong. Illusions. Myths. Mendacities. Lies.  They project them. collectively and individually, on the Lee Attwater-amplified theory of using the “Big Lie,” a tactic of extremist governance used throughout history, but most clearly stated by the ultimate Right-wing liar and mad-man, Adolph Hitler.

In Mein Kampf, Hitler defines the use of the same Big Lie that is common to the Attwater-Rove era of Republican dogma:

[I]n the big lie there is always a certain force of credibility; because the broad masses of a nation are always more easily corrupted in the deeper strata of their emotional nature than consciously or voluntarily; and thus in the primitive simplicity of their minds they more readily fall victims to the big lie than the small lie, since they themselves often tell small lies in little matters but would be ashamed to resort to large-scale falsehoods.
