Rush Limbaugh is an ass.
- He thinks that the more sex you have, the more birth control pills you need to take.
- He thinks women who need birth control are sluts. If the collective “we” has to pay for contraceptive care, then the collective “we” should get to watch videos of girls having sex.
- He thinks a woman , who speaks on behalf of a friend who lost an ovary because she was denied access to contraceptives, should have parents who are ashamed of her.
No, Rush. Shame on you.

That we have the kind of crass, horrific incivility in our polarized politics, and our Right-intimidated media, is not surprising. What is sad, shocking, and somber, is the conduct of thousands, perhaps millions of Americans who do the bidding of the 1% even when it contradicts their own self-interest and their personal moral compass.

Occupy Wall Street (OWS) protestors dodged Mayor Bloomberg’s left hook on the ground last Friday, cleaning Liberty Square before the city could use it as an excuse to break up the demonstration, but the leaderless revolt continues to struggle with the 1%’s powerful gatling gun: The corporate-owned media that still influences the opinion of a majority of Americans. 90% of the news cycle is being sucked down by a GOP that actually represents only 23% of the voting public [1], or roughly 13% of the total population in the U.S.[2] How does the tiny partisan party prevail in their presidential putsch when only 12% of non-partisans even lean Republican? The sheepskin of George W. Bush may have said Yale, but the mouthful of “Bushisms,” from the “decider” to “misunderestimated” made him the butt of billions of dollars of “dumb” joke merchandise. Yet, in all of that, not one Democrat in leadership or running against W. took a shot at his staggering lack of intellect.
The same cannot be said for Republicans. The level of acrimony and bile injected into every political thought, particularly in regard to Mr. Obama, is cynical pandering to their core white audience who seem to think that he is the 3/5ths president.
While the media obsessed with Tim Pawlenty’s lack of teeth in attacking Mitt Romney last week, the barb directed at the President was completely missed:

President Obama’s stab at changing government is a lot like Heracles’ famed battle with the Hydra of Lerna, a nine-headed serpent with poisonous breath. Every time Mr. Obama proposes cutting off one head of a foe of change, two more grow back. The worst part is that many of the heads are found in his own government.
